What You’ll Experience with us

To start the conversation with us, be sure to fill out a contact form here and we’ll book you in for a consult!

Consultation | 1hr

Usually in person, we offer you a complimentary consultation where we get to know each other and talk about creating magic! We confirm details we need from you about your wedding and we continue the chatter and talk about your dream dress; the design, how it will fit and what fabrics we’ll use. We have small selection of Sample gowns that you may look at and even try on. A sketch will be prepared before or at your consultation and as we refine your design we try to make it as clear as possible what the end result will be. We’re passionate about creating a warm and comfortable space for you (and if you like, a small party to support you) where you’re free to talk about anything you want to! Be it, your outrages dreams, sappy love stories, insecurities (we all have them don’t worry) and of course “THE DRESS”. The hardest thing is keeping it to an hour long appointment! Towards the end of the consultation, we may take your measurements to have on file and make sure you’re feeling excited for you dream dress! Following this appointment, you will receive a design proposal which will include the sketch, description and quote for your gown ready to be booked in to be made.

First Fitting | 0.5 - 1 hour

You will try on the foundation of your gown; your boned bodice and skirt lining. We don’t usually create a toile* (*a test garment) as we start with your gown’s base fabric straight away. Sometimes a toile is necessary but not the ordinary. We will mark all alterations that need to be made for the gown to fit you perfectly at that time. We will also confirm the design lines of the gowns front and back neckline and waistline. These markings are made whilst you are wearing the garment. We also confirm all fabrics and laces at this fitting. If having lace or specialty fabrics, we will look at a curated selection of headers that we will decide between.

What we need from you:
- If you’re planning to change your body shape please let us know (e.g. losing or gaining weight.)
- It’s best to wear skin coloured underwear.
- Limit any use of fake tan or other coloured lotions that will rub off onto the garment

Second Fitting | 1 hour

The Outer layers will be sewn on your gown. This includes your skirt and a small or large amount lacework or draping your design might have. We will fit the gown to your body shape again and mark your zip after confirming how firm you want the fit to be around your torso. We confirm with you again that this is the correct direction we all love for your design. This fitting will be the last time we will mark any large alterations. Any alterations due to your body changing or design changes after this fitting will be charged additionally. If your design has lacework or draping, some of the work will not be completed however we will confirm that the placements work well to what we need to achieve for your design. An example of this might be an awkwardly placed draped piece of fabric that we will re-drape on your body. We will cut your hem and confirm the length of your train.

What we need from you:
- Your body shape must stay consistent from this fitting onwards
- Bring the shoes you plan to wear with your gown so that we can cut your hem to the correct length
- Continue to limit using coloured lotions or fake tan

Third Fitting | 1 hour

Your gown will be 95% completed. Your zip will be sewn in. Your lining will be sewn in. Your hem will be finished and all lace-work and draping should be competed with some exceptions.  We will again asses the fit of the gown on your body shape. Occasionally small adjustments might need to be made to finish the gown perfectly but major alterations will all be completed. We will mark your bustle** (**an option to hook up the train of your skirt to under your bum) and lastly, if you’ve purchased a veil, this will be finished and we’ll put it on you!

What we need from you:
- Your body shape must stay consistent. If your body changes dramatically and we have to commit to a large alteration we have to charge an additional fee to cover unexpected labour costs
- Bring the shoes you plan to wear with your gown and we will confirm the length of your hem
- If necessary, bring the undergarments your planning to wear with you dress to confirm that it works well
- Continue to limit using coloured lotions or fake tan

Your Pick Up Appointment | 0.5 - 1 hour

Your gown is completed! this appointment is usually booked 1 - 2 weeks before your wedding date. Your gown will be steamed, cleaned and pressed for you to wear on your special day. We’ll get you to try on your gown one last time to confirm everything. You can also bring your accessories and shoes along to see the entire look come together. We’ll provide you with a garment bag and hanger to store your gown in and we wish you the best time to walk, run or gallop down the aisle!
